Capacity has increased on the border of Crimea with the former Ukraine
The throughput capacity on the Crimean border has increased significantly. The construction of additional lanes and mobile inspection systems made it possible to clear the passage of 1,7 thousand trucks per day, whereas previously several hundred trucks passed through three checkpoints.
Crimean leader Sergei Aksyonov inspected the readiness of the border crossing point in Dzhankoy, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“In fact, the line has stretched. “Thank you very much to everyone who worked at this facility and in Armyansk,” he emphasized. - The border service, customs service, our Crimean contractor, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Crimea - quickly did as agreed. We installed two new inspection systems. The third one is getting ready to connect.
Yesterday, 1700 trucks passed through three checkpoints in both directions. That is, we have already reached the throughput that we were targeting. I think that we will achieve the target wait of no more than 4 hours.”
Aksenov added that the passage of transport across the border will continue to be monitored during the week. But carriers are already saying that additional lanes for inspection of trucks, launched in test mode, have increased the passage of trucks at one checkpoint from 100 according to the norm to 900 per day. The next step should be the organization of storage areas for vehicles in Dzhankoy.

The route has again found a new life, lost eight years ago, wrote the former Minister of Transport of Crimea, head of the Association of Freight Carriers of the Republic, Anatoly Tsurkin, in his telegram channel. – A huge number of trucks of all types and brands delivering goods to the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
Freight traffic has created new jobs, and services related to freight traffic are being developed - tire shops, shops, food outlets. Local authorities need to delve into the specifics: it would be nice to organize parking lots, streamline trade, since the trucks standing on the side of the road, sooner or later, will push through this side of the road with their weight. I’m already silent about the mountains of garbage that drivers leave behind.”
Let us remind you that by decision of the government commission, at the checkpoints across the Ukrainian-Russian border at the entrance to Crimea, the number of lanes for the passage and inspection of trucks has been increased. Previously, the line of trucks stretched for tens of kilometers, while the main cargo was agricultural products with a short shelf life.
The wait for border control reached 48 hours. By July 1, the time at the border was supposed to be reduced to 4 hours. In addition, by June 20, all units of the Border Agency planned to be staffed with additional personnel to cope with the increased workload.
