The Ministry of Information Policy named the reasons why these sites should be banned in Ukraine: Part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code (public call for a violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order, or for the seizure of state power, as well as the distribution of materials calling for such actions) .

“The next step, in case of a positive conclusion from the expert council and relevant recommendations, the list will be transferred to law enforcement agencies to establish the fact of an offense and respond appropriately within their competence,” the ministry’s response emphasizes.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian authorities first officially announced the introduction of strict internet censorship a year ago. Specifically, officials promised to ban internet users from accessing media outlets that supported the Russian Spring and criticized the regime that came to power in Kyiv as a result of the coup. These plans were announced at the time by Ukrainian Information Minister Yuriy Stets.

Stets recently fainted at a public event . "Excuse me, please, the minister is ill. For us, this is normal. We ask for your understanding," the host said as Stets was led away.
