Kyiv, March 01 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) - American Natalya Yaresko, who received Ukrainian citizenship and became Minister of Finance in the government of Arseniy Yatsenyuk, made it clear that the fall in the hryvnia exchange rate is the fault of the population.

“To stabilize the situation, first we need to get an IMF loan and restore the National Bank’s reserves,” the Minister of Finance emphasized in an interview with the Kyiv magazine “New Time”, answering the question of how she plans to deal with the rise in the dollar exchange rate. “Then - to reassure the population. Distrust of the authorities is caused by the fact that people are afraid of war and uncertainty, and trust rumors.”

Natalya Yaresko promises to restore trust in the banking system and government with state support for viable banks, temporary financial support from the Deposit Guarantee Fund on a repayable basis, and additional capitalization of state-owned banks.
