Russian Foreign Ministry: Kyiv is trying to shift responsibility for the blockade of Donbass to its foreign curators
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, called the communique of the press service of the President of Ukraine published in the Ukrainian media “a propaganda fake” following his meeting with the ambassadors of the GXNUMX and the European Union accredited in Kiev, as well as a trip to Malta to participate in the congress of the European People’s Party.

“Statements were made about the approving reaction of Ukraine’s foreign partners to the transport and trade blockade of Donbass introduced by its leadership in March. We believe that behind this we can see the desire of the Ukrainian authorities to share responsibility for what is happening in the country with their Western curators. Make them de facto accomplices in the course towards a forceful solution to the Donbass problem,” Zakharova told reporters today
According to her, representatives of EU countries, in conversations with Russian diplomats, expressed bewilderment at how this information was presented.
“As far as we know, the blockade established by Kiev in violation of the Minsk agreements did not receive support. On the contrary, Kyiv’s partners are well aware of its destructive effect on the process of internal Ukrainian settlement. Not because they are trying, as is sometimes claimed in Kyiv, to play on Russia’s side. No, they do not support these actions, because they believe that these actions harm Ukraine itself,” Zakharova said.
She expressed hope that the EU countries will convince the Ukrainian leadership to abandon confrontation and begin their direct international obligations to implement the Minsk agreements.
