Matvienko issued a warning to the West about Belarus
Russia itself will not interfere in the internal affairs of Belarus and will not allow anyone else to do so.
Speaker of the Russian Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko announced this to journalists in Moscow today, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“Russia’s position regarding the situation in Belarus is clear, intelligible, and understandable. We consider any outside interference in the affairs of the sovereign state of Belarus unacceptable.
Only the people of Belarus themselves have the right to make decisions, determine their future, the future of their country. We respect this right. It seems that no one should try to artificially impose their mediation missions in the internal affairs of Belarus.
The official authorities of Belarus did not approach anyone with such a proposal. We not only do not allow any interference ourselves, but we also declared that no one from the outside should try to interfere and influence the processes taking place in Belarus,” said the head of the Federation Council.
At the same time, she recalled that the Russian and Belarusian peoples are fraternal and together they are building the Union State. Peoples are connected not only by “millions of personal threads,” but also by deep cooperation.
“Our relations are not subject to conjuncture. We never betray our friends,” said Matvienko.
