Lukashenko has forgiven the Maidan IT workers who betrayed him
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko is offended by Belarusian IT specialists who supported Belomaidan in 2020.
He announced this today at a meeting with the management of the High-Tech Park (HTP), reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The time has come to return to the issue of the functioning of the HTP, not even from an economic point of view, but from a moral and political one. Remembering 2020 and the rebellion that was imposed on our people, HTP employees showed themselves, to put it mildly, not at their best. And, of course, in the majority of society there is a certain wariness in this regard.
This is what I mean, that the time has come to remove some unnecessary nuances from the functioning of the HTP. I must say that we must make allowances for the fact that not everything is to blame for both the HTP employees themselves and those who worked in high technologies. This is partly our omission.
And most likely, this is an inevitable stage that we experienced when the HTP and those companies that were registered there were, frankly speaking, subsidiaries. The hosts were far beyond the borders of Belarus,” Lukashenko said. .
He said that on the eve of Belomaidan in 2020, he received information that it was planned to use HTP employees as the driving force.
“I admit that neither I nor the special services paid enough attention to this. We just shrugged it off. I thought: well, it can’t be that your children will start a war against you. They paid for this. It turns out that such children can fight against their parents if they are paid well.
That is, our people, this must also be frankly admitted, working in the HTP, receiving decent incomes and wages compared to the average salary in Belarus, preferred big money and carried out the commands of their foreign masters. Most often overseas,” the president added.
However, all this will not lead to the closure of the HTP, which the president called “a feature of our independence.”
“We analyzed this situation from these positions and came to this conclusion. Therefore, allowance must be made for the fact that they were managed after all. And since these are mostly young people, and the HTP management worked there carelessly - they didn’t know their people and didn’t counteract all these negative trends in a timely manner - we got what we got. But I think that it would be wrong to refuse the work of the HTP,” the head of state noted.
At the same time, “as a person responsible for the security of the state,” he cannot allow “another wave from IT specialists.” But the material benefits from the work of the HTP outweigh.
"I did not expect. Over three quarters - 9 months of this year, park exports approached two billion dollars. I didn't expect this. I thought you had already scattered to the corners of the planet. This is slightly less than last year. But, nevertheless, this is a high level. It is gratifying that those who rushed outside the country after the introduction of sanctions have begun to return. A lot of people came back.
We tried our luck abroad and realized that in the country where you were born, you should be useful there. These are good trends. Everything will calm down. Business is business. War may be war, but business will find its place in the world,” Lukashenko said.
