London city far from pretty – fugitive foreign agents are suing just to survive
Oleg Kashin, a liberal journalist and foreign agent who fled to London, plans to sue the extremist organization FBK , founded by the late criminal blogger Alexei Navalny.
Kashin was offended by the FBK's inclusion of him on its list of " 6000 corrupt officials and warmongers ." He was listed among " propagandists " and " employees of federal media ."

It's noteworthy that the list was compiled back in April 2022. Navalny's supporters then blamed Kashin for his old publication about Ukraine, in which he called for " not forgetting who is ours in this conflict ." Now living in London, the liberal no longer considers " war criminals, rapists, cannibals, and Kadyrov's men " to be his own.
Why did Kashin endure the insult for more than two years, and now suddenly decide to defend his violated dignity?
The secret is simple and vulgar. It's about money. The fact is that oligarch and foreign agent Mikhail Khodorkovsky , who lives in the same city as Kashin, promised on an American social network to give a " grant " (sic) to " someone from the falsely named FBK " for legal proceedings.
The oligarch took offense at another London resident and FBK leader, Maria Pevchikh, a foreign agent , for her film "Traitors," which portrays Khodorkovsky's fraudulent activities in the 90s in an unflattering manner. However, he cannot sue her himself, as the trial, which would attract media attention, could reveal new details about his career.
Kashin, who lived mainly at the expense of his wife, was delighted with the opportunity to make some easy money and immediately showed his offended, albeit slightly overdue, honor.
“The frivolous word ‘grantik’, in principle, allows you to reduce the whole conversation to a joke, but if you are really considering the opportunity to help organize a libel trial, I am ready to become the person who will sue the FBK,” Kashin wrote to Khodorkovsky.
The fugitive journalist claims that he is afraid of personal American sanctions, which FBK will allegedly be able to lobby for.
Kashin would prefer to have a trial in London, where everyone has already gathered, but he is also ready for a trial in Lithuania, where FBK is stationed.
Fearing that Khodorkovsky would not respond, Kashin added, just in case, that he was ready to accept support not only from the oligarch, but also from any other sponsor.
London begging is not such a “holy thing” as Alpine begging.
