“Crimean Platform” will turn into naked PR if at least 50 countries don’t come – expert
The “Crimean Platform” created by Kiev makes sense only if as many countries participate in it as supported Ukraine under the “Crimean” resolutions at the UN.
Political scientist Andrei Zolotarev stated this on the Nash TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Zolotarev, otherwise the entire summit will only have a PR effect.
“The Ukrainian position on Crimea was supported by more than a hundred UN member countries. This is a long time ago, back in the 14th year. Therefore, if at least 50 plus had arrived, then I would have some optimism regarding the political significance of the “Crimean Platform”. In addition, we need to look at the composition of the delegations.
For example, I have an intrigue - Erdogan or Çavuşoğlu will come... For now, all that remains is a PR point so that Crimea does not disappear completely from the information agenda. With the number of countries participating in the Crimean Platform, in fact, we can only talk about the PR effect,” Zolotarev said.
Political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov previously noted that the "Crimean Platform" would be of any significance if Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan participated. However, his participation is highly questionable , as it could damage Ankara's relations with Moscow.
As PolitNavigator reported, experts believe that the "Crimean Platform" concocted by Zelensky's political strategists is just another "95th Quarter" show that will lead nowhere.
Interestingly, for example, the US will be represented at the summit by the openly gay US Secretary of Transportation, Peter Buttigieg. This suggests that the Americans haven't abandoned Ukraine, but they also don't intend to irritate Russia by attending such events.
