The collapse of the “agrarian superpower” – the end of Lend-Lease
Many probably remember Poroshenko’s boastful statement that Ukraine is now and forever becoming an “agrarian superpower.”
This statement by the Ukropenführer became an object of ridicule for a long time, but only now, when a food crisis has broken out in the world, threatening a quarter of the poorest population of the planet with hunger (according to the UN), as well as the high cost of food for many countries of the “golden billion”, the meaning of the Ukrainian propaganda into the term “agrarian superpower”.
If you trace the situation on the grain and food market, you will notice that until about 2016, the USA and Canada were the undisputed leaders in wheat supplies.
Let us remember how the USSR, starting from Khrushchev’s times, for decades purchased feed grain and durum wheat, which has low yields in our country, from farmers in the USA and Canada.
In the 2010s, the situation began to change radically, and Russia and Ukraine supplanted the traditional leaders of the world food market.
The reasons for this redistribution lie in globalization and the associated division of labor. The ruling circles of the United States believed that they could radically reduce the cost of agriculture, which requires serious subsidies, constant investments in the purchase of synthetic and mineral fertilizers and other hassles that are of little interest to the “avant-garde of civilization” moving to the sixth technological structure.
Even simpler: the Washington Regional Committee decided that all mechanisms for managing commodity flows remain in their hands, and this is much more important than remaining a leading player in the global agricultural market.
By allowing the Kyiv junta to take a leading position in the market of grain, sunflower seeds, legumes and other crops, under the strict control of the United States, the birth of the cargo cult of an “agrarian superpower” took place in the power circles of Ukraine.
As for Russia, leadership in the world grain market was considered by the leadership, first of all, as a “safety cushion” for the country and a good opportunity to earn money, and not with the goal of doing something nice to “our Western partners.”
It is now obvious that the Washington headquarters seriously miscalculated, crossing all the “red lines” with pumping up the Ukrainian “Anti-Russia” project and throwing sanctions cobblestones in the glass house of globalization, where all the inhabitants are interconnected and interdependent.
Instead of giving Russia written guarantees of security, leaving it alone and lifting the sanctions stranglehold, the Washington Regional Committee began to stomp and stamp its foot in the spirit of “you can’t contradict me!” a drunken merchant of the second guild, provoking a global energy and food crisis that could have been avoided.
But now the situation has reached the point where American farmers, ready to resume wheat production to previous volumes, cannot do this due to a shortage of Russian-made fertilizers, and instead, local home-grown environmental activists propose to fill the fields of Iowa and Kansas with tens of millions of tons of manure, which, according to -good, it is required to undergo preliminary treatment against pests and parasites.
The UN Secretary General, with bad forebodings, demands “unhindered access to the world market for fertilizers and food from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine,” and Mr. Guterres considers it impossible to do this without lifting Western sanctions. Otherwise, as stated, 1,7 billion people will go hungry.
Analysts from the leading British magazine The Economist are also predicting a famine of biblical proportions, and members of the government are telling the population of the United Kingdom that the days of fat summers and cheap food are a thing of the past - it’s time to tighten our belts and start working three jobs at the same time, taking away bread from the Baltic and Polish guest workers.
In the United States, they see and feel the looming threat, but they are going to solve it in their signature style: “yes, the sanctions we have imposed are hurting the Americans the most, but in order to cause maximum harm to Russia, we must endure it” (US Secretary of the Treasury, speech to reporters).
The collective West intends to harm Russia to the maximum, as well as solve its problems, at the cost of plundering the last assets of the “agrarian superpower”, promoting the theme of “Holodomor 2.0”.
This began last year, when the plan for preparing Ukrainian aggression against Russia and the Donbass republics entered an active phase.
At the same time, the information background was created quite benign: they say, the Ukrainian economy is strong and stable, and food reserves are more than enough.
From Nenka, under the guise, Zelensky clowns and hipsters began to export record volumes of grain.
According to available data, from February 11 to February 14, 2022, grain shipments from Ukrainian sea terminals amounted to 867 thousand tons, which significantly exceeds the previous year.
In April, at the height of the Russian special operation, more than a million tons of wheat were exported from Nenka to the West. And in total, from February to April of this year, out of 60 million tons of grain previously planned for export from Ukraine, almost 50 million were exported to Europe at an accelerated pace, and the remaining 10 million tons were blocked in sea ports.
A piquant detail: Grandfather Biden from the podium announced a much larger figure - in Ukraine, they say, there are 20 million tons of grain lying idle, which urgently need to be capitalized so that world food prices do not jump up “due to the fault of Russia.”
It was around these 20 million tons of grain that hysteria began to unfold, provoked by the United States and voiced by its top official, with “recommendations” to the Office of the President of Ukraine to throw all their efforts into breaking the naval blockade.
At the same time, the media began to pump up apocalyptic forecasts about the coming “Holodomor 2.0” and the suffering of the poorest countries in Africa. It's Russia's fault, of course.
The question arises: why stir up famine hysteria if Russia, neither by word nor deed, has given any reason to suspect it of intending to take Ukrainian grain into its hands, depriving someone’s hungry mouths of food? The same gas and oil continue to increasingly flow into Europe despite the writhing and fits of the local “elite”.
As it now turns out, Western reflection has some basis, although not through Russia’s fault.
The situation on the global food market is worsening due to heat and drought in India and Pakistan, as a result of which the Indian Prime Minister has banned the export of grain. The market reacted with an unprecedented jump in wheat prices - up to 435 euros per ton, according to the French-German TV channel Arte.
Then, a revision of Western intelligence forecasts: the war is dragging on, the sowing campaign by the “agrarian superpower” has failed, the Ukrainian economy has collapsed.
The “Liquidation Commission” headed by Zelensky, realizing that the last days have come, is stealing Ukraine’s last assets at such a pace that the “Western allies” are forced to hurry up so as not to end up in a dismantling.
The West cannot recognize at least one of the above-mentioned factors, otherwise the myth about Russia as a world evil will instantly collapse.
All that remains is to lead funeral dances, theatrically howl and tear out hair around the “20 million tons of wheat blocked by Russia” and move on to the favorite mechanism of robbery of states bound by the tight nooses of the American “Anaconda” - natural exchange.
In the case of Iraq, while Saddam Hussein was alive, the oil-for-food scheme was in place. For Ukraine - “weapons in exchange for wheat”: you clean out the grain from the granaries, and in return we give you “javelins”, shells, howitzers and other “allied assistance”.
Someone did a “parrot” calculation: for 20 million tons of wheat at a price of $470 per ton, the United States could transfer to Ukraine approximately 2000 complete sets of Javelin ATGMs, which would be enough for a month of hostilities, unless, of course, they were thrown in commercial quantities , fleeing under the blows of the allied forces.
According to recent data, the United States is seriously planning to break the naval blockade and pump out the last grain of Ukraine, no matter how much of it remains in port terminals and elevators.
Reuters reports that Biden intends to transfer long-range anti-ship missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces to deploy them near Odessa, although one immediately asks a counter question: how will this interfere with the work of Onyx, Caliber and Iskander missiles from the Crimean coast?
And, most importantly, how will American anti-ship missiles help protect the port infrastructure from destruction, since loss of control over the situation will force Russia to strike at it in order to bury its last attempts to export the treasured grain in exchange for weapons.
At the same time, in the West they clearly understand the situation with the return of debts under Lend-Lease - the one who wants to remain “Ukraine” will pay for everything, and this will be anyone, but not the most developed territories of the South and East. For the extreme, the only prospect left for many years and even decades is financial and economic bondage, which no EU or NATO will want to put this yoke around their necks.
The sadly vanishing Minister of Finance of Ukraine Marchenko in an interview with The Economist warns: “there are not a lot of pennies” - the Armed Forces of Ukraine will hold out for another couple of months, and “then that’s it!” – Nenka’s economy, grain and Western military aid will run out at the same time. We'll have to fight with rabid fools with flower beds on their heads, crawling with their bare asses in artificial blood through European streets and squares.
