“It was announced to them that it would not be advisable to carry out the events at all due to the fact that there was a possibility of a threat to a large number of citizens,” said Colonel Igor Kovalenko, head of the public security department of the Kyiv headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, at a briefing.
According to him, Khreshchatyk and Maidan on May 1 will be busy with various events for children.
As a result, communists and veteran organizations gather on May 1 on the territory of the Museum of the Great Patriotic War.
According to Kovalenko, tomorrow, in addition to the police, the National Guard and “self-defense” will be involved in protecting public order in Kyiv.
