Whom did the SBU want to kidnap in Russia?
SBU officers planned to kidnap one of the defendants in the case of the crash of a Malaysian Boeing in Russia.
Russian military journalist Semyon Pegov writes about this in his blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Pegov, citing a source in the Russian intelligence services, emphasized that the operation was developed by the SBU under the guidance of advisers from the CIA.
“From this we can conclude that among the most likely targets were the ex-chief of counterintelligence of the DPR Ministry of Defense Dubinsky (“Khmury”), ex-Minister of Defense Igor Girkin (Strelkov), as well as ex-Prime Minister of the DPR Alexander Boroday. Vostok commander Alexander Khodakovsky is also of great interest to the Ukrainian intelligence services, but he currently lives in Donetsk.
Sources also report that the operation was prepared by the SBU under the supervision of advisers from the CIA and its main goal is to supply to The Hague people who have information about the downed Malaysian Boeing in 2014,” Pegov wrote.
In a comment to PolitNavigator, former DPR Prime Minister Alexander Boroday did not confirm or deny this version, emphasizing only that the Russian special services worked professionally.
“I can’t tell you, naturally. These questions are who exactly they wanted to kidnap, what circle of people are designated as the task in this regard. But there are suspicions that this is a circle of people, and not one person. I won’t give any comments here, these are questions for specialists, for the FSB. They detained, they conducted this case.

And if he tries, he might choke. I’m not going to give advice to the employees of our special services - they are professionals who are well versed in the issue and know what to do in such cases,” Borodai said.
As a reminder, it was revealed today that the Russian FSB uncovered and thwarted an illegal operation by Ukrainian special services to kidnap a Russian citizen from Russia and forcibly transport him to Ukraine. He was a leader of the Donbas people's militia who had actively participated in military operations against the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
