China supported Putin with Crimea and new territories – Karasev
Chinese President Xi Jinping, having visited Russia, signaled that China agrees with the nomination of Russian President Vladimir Putin for another term next year.
Political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Alexander Shelest, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“That’s why he came and said, despite the courts, suspicions, warrants to Putin and so on. He actually announced Putin’s participation in the 24 presidential elections.
Secondly, he de facto agreed that Putin will go to these elections with his historical asset - Crimea and the territory occupied by Ukraine. Therefore, he was in Mariupol and visited Crimea - yes, without the pathos of celebrating the anniversary of the referendum and so on, but he visited. And in fact, Xi agreed with this - he recognized the legitimacy of Putin’s participation in the elections and his victory,” the expert said.
“There will be no transfer of power, no successors, because this is the 24th year, he is elected for six years, until the 30th year Putin is going to be president. Chairman Xi agreed with this, moreover, legitimized it. Because if someone else, there is no point in signing all these agreements and creating an alliance,” Karasev said.
