Deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship of persons with dual citizenship is an instrument of power to combat unwanted voters.

This opinion was expressed on the NewsOne TV channel by the ex-Minister of Transport of Ukraine and former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Evgeniy Chervonenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He recalled that the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko promised that the Ukrainian authorities plan to deprive Ukrainian citizenship of those Ukrainians who receive passports from other countries.

“This conflict will be used to fight against those undesirable in the presidential elections and to intimidate. “And we will deprive you of your citizenship. Leave! It will be illegal. Well, the grandmother from Mukachevo won’t find a lawyer for herself if the Balogs don’t intercede,” Chervonenko said.

He gave an example when residents of Crimea who moved to the territory of Ukraine were deprived of the right to vote in presidential and parliamentary elections.

“This is a technique, like everything aimed at vile cynicism, to say: “Those who in Crimea receive a Russian passport along with a Ukrainian one are traitors.” And at the same time, those one and a half million Ukrainians who left the temporarily occupied territories, who are stuck in bureaucratic corruption, do not have the right to vote in elections, because the authorities know that even those who fled here will not vote for them.” , says Chervonenko.

We would like to remind you that PolitNavigator previously reported that Budapest has promised similar measures, if Kyiv decides to expel the Hungarian consul to Beregovo.
