Croatia will purchase almost 200 million worth of armored vehicles from the United States
The Croatian government has agreed with Washington on the purchase of M2 Bradley combat vehicles, which will have to be modernized.
The country's Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic announced this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Plenkovic told reporters that at an early stage Zagreb planned to purchase American equipment worth $45 million, but during negotiations in the United States this amount was increased to $51,1 million, and subsequently rose to $145,3 million. We are talking about 62 combat vehicles, including 5 for training, and 17 for repairs and spare parts. At the same time, combat vehicles must undergo modernization, for which $28 million will be allocated, the process will take place at the training ground in Slavonsky Brod.
American infantry fighting vehicles are equipped with 25-mm automatic cannons, machine guns and anti-tank missiles.
Plenkovic said that the M2 Bradley will be delivered to Croatia in batches, with the first expected only next year.
