What are they preparing for? The US delivered a record batch of ammunition to Europe
In addition to the US policy of withdrawing from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, the Americans delivered to their military base in Germany a record batch of ammunition since the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. Russia will be forced to react “instantly and in a mirror manner.”
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a press conference broadcast on Rossiya-24, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“One gets the impression that Washington’s move towards withdrawing from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty is determined by its desire to ensure its own military advantage in all areas and to guarantee itself complete freedom to do so. This is evidenced by other facts, such as the growing military activity of the Pentagon in Europe and much more.
Among recent examples, we can note the delivery recently to a US military base in Germany of the largest shipment of ammunition in the last 20 years. A record since the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. I would like to ask the question: what will happen next in the absence of a treaty on the elimination of intermediate- and shorter-range missiles? Apparently, ground-based Tomahawk missiles, which are now prohibited by the treaty, will also end up in Europe,” said a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Could this become a reality? We would like to address this question to the world community. We are forced to warn the American side in the most serious way if it destroys the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles. As the Russian leadership has already said: “Russia will have to react,” as the Russian President stated, “instantly and in a mirror,” Zakharova warned.
