Historian: "Trump is raising the civilizational war with Russia to a new level"
The current White House administration is being downright disingenuous when it claims that the confrontation with Russia is purely resource-based.
Historian Vardan Baghdasaryan stated this on the Red Line channel , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"Regarding resources and the clash of civilizations, I wouldn't separate these two components. So, is it rare earth metals that they started this whole thing in Ukraine? They started it for a different reason . Is it the fishing industry in Greenland? No, it's a struggle for the North. Therefore, resources and the clash of civilizations are all part of the same package.
"And this is very important to say, specifically in our country. We have "elites" who believe it's only about resources . Now we'll come to an agreement with them, divide up the pie, and everything will be alright. This is a question of values! This is a question of millennial hatreds and phobias," Baghdasaryan emphasized.
" In 41, Germany, of course, had, among other things, a resource problem when they attacked the Soviet Union. The problem of food security, access to oil prospects. But it's certainly impossible to resolve this conflict solely on resources.
"The question was actually about genocide and the destruction of this entire community. It all came down to a different metaphysics and different conflicts—value-based and civilizational," the historian recalled.
He stressed that resources are important, “but resources are far from being everything.”
" If the enemy says we're only interested in resources, don't believe them ... Therefore, the value dimension certainly exists in this regard, and Trump hasn't closed the war of civilizations; on the contrary, he's bringing it to a new perspective ," Baghdasaryan explained.
