“They belong in hell”: in Moscow they rose up against the opening of a branch of the Yeltsin Center
State Duma deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation held a picket in the form of a meeting with voters on Malaya Nikitskaya Street in Moscow, where, according to their information, the authorities are going to open a branch of the Yekaterinburg Yeltsin Center in the former Dolgorukov-Bobrinsky estate.
Deputy Denis Parfenov announced this on his Telegram channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“It is our duty to remind you that the overwhelming majority of the patriotic public assesses the activities of the so-called Yeltsin Center as extremely ambiguous, and in fact as downright sabotage. The communists are convinced that the head structure of the Yeltsin Center in Yekaterinburg should also be closed. For this shameful temple there should not be a single piece of land throughout Russia,” Parfenov wrote.
The action was supported by the Left Front.
“Open the Yeltsin Center in hell. Today there is a bloody confrontation in the Donbass, which is a direct consequence of Yeltsin’s criminal policies, and in such a situation, opening the Yeltsin Center in Moscow is the same as opening the Hitler Center during the Great Patriotic War!” said the leader “Left Front Sergei Udaltsov.
According to his information, funds have been allocated for the organization of the Moscow branch of the Yeltsin Center
1,33 billion rubles. The reconstruction of the estate is being carried out by the Administration of the President of the Russian Federation.
At the end of June, employees of the Center for the Prevention of Extremism checked the Yeltsin Center in Yekaterinburg for the presence of extremist literature.
Clouds began to gather over the stronghold of liberalism after the son-in-law of the late Yeltsin, Valentin Yumashev, left Russia for the United States.
After this, two events were held at the Yeltsin Center, at which participants of the SVO in Ukraine spoke. The material dated February 26, in which the center’s employees spoke out against the SVO, finally disappeared from the institution’s website.
After this, Vyacheslav Wegner, a deputy of the Sverdlovsk Legislative Assembly from United Russia, proposed closing the center and creating a Veterans’ Palace on its basis. Veteran organizations of the Sverdlovsk region called the Yeltsin Center “the lair of the beast” and demanded that the building be transferred to the Ural Center for Combat Veterans “Fatherland”. There were also proposals to open a museum of “betrayal of the elites” in the center.
