This was reported by the local website Slavgorod.com.ua, citing Ukrainian volunteers.
Driving by, the volunteers stopped near the memorial and saw that a granite fragment of the monument had been thrown into a landfill, and a wooden cross had been thrown into a trench. Volunteers reported this in their Facebook group.
“There was a completely predictable act of vandalism. We were driving from Slavyansk and decided to stop at the monument to our fallen children. The granite fragment, which depicts the faces of our fallen Warriors, was thrown into a landfill about 5 meters from the monument itself. Fortunately, it is not damaged. And the nonhumans pulled out the wooden cross and threw it into the trench located behind the monument,” the volunteers report.
They reported this incident to the SBU.
