Facebook has made a decision: Ukrainians will now be banned not in Moscow, but in Warsaw
The international corporation Facebook has officially appointed social activist, journalist, and political scientist Kateryna Kruk to the position of Policy Manager for Ukraine, based in Warsaw, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The appointment took place on May 27, but Crook noted this on her social network page only today.
“We at the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine believe that this is the best choice that Facebook could make. It has been known about it for some time from unofficial sources, but, unfortunately, about three months before the official announcement of this decision, our contacts on Facebook stopped all communication with us without warning,” wrote Deputy Minister Dmitry Zolotukhin.
“We really hope that after this appointment, Facebook’s rude and unprofessional attitude towards Ukraine and Ukrainians will finally stop,” Zolotukhin wrote.
He described Ekaterina Kruk as “the speaker of all current conferences on disinformation in recent years, a principled and honest person.”
Until now, the Facebook corporation did not have a separate representative on issues related to work in Ukraine; issues relating to Ukrainian citizens, legislation, and rules of use were resolved by the office in Russia.
Facebook has decided to ban Ukrainians in Warsaw, not Moscow.
