The European Union was openly hypocritical when at the end of June they called on Russia to take responsibility for the crash of Boeing MH-17.
German political scientist Alexander Sosnovsky spoke about this during the program “Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There are two documents in the Bundestag. One of them is dated 2015, and the second is completely recent. They were both compiled at the request of the parties in the Bundestag - the “Left” and the “Greens”. There is no specific indication in any response from the BND (German foreign intelligence service) that Russia has anything to do with this. There is an indication that there was a certain AWACS-NATO aircraft that was flying over Romanian territory when the Boeing was shot down, and it recorded certain signals that were produced by air defense systems. Moreover, in these responses from the Bundestag it is clearly stated that it is impossible to identify whether these were Buk systems or old Soviet ones,” Sosnovsky said.
He noted that German media refer to an investigation by an “independent journalistic group”, according to which the plane was shot down by a “Russian-made missile.”
“But in German they often replace the word “Soviet” with the word “Russian.” Merkel must understand this subtlety of translation,” Sosnowski said.
On June 29, participants at the EU summit agreed that Russia should admit responsibility for the crash of the Malaysian Boeing 777, shot down over Ukraine in 2014.
