Rada deputy regrets that Ukraine cannot defeat Russia in the war
Ukrainian politicians calling for war need to think about the people living on the contact line and not provoke Moscow into an offensive.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Victoria Grib stated this on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As a majoritarian from the city of Shchastya, who is on the contact line, when I hear politicians who advocate a military solution to the conflict, I get goosebumps. Perhaps these people were on the front line, but I see the people who live there, they are constantly under the threat of gunfire, there is absolutely no time for such statements.
"Some may believe we can win militarily, but unfortunately, I don't think we can do that today. We don't need to provoke Russia, which will then claim they helped the unrecognized republics defend themselves , because this assistance could quickly turn into an offensive. Therefore, we need to weigh every word. In Donbas, people are living in fear and dying," Hryb said.
As a reminder, Moscow previously stated that within five years, Europe would face a regional war on Ukrainian territory, which would result in the division of the country and the incorporation of all southeastern regions into Russia, following the example of Crimea.
Moreover, Donetsk previously noted that in the event of a full-scale Ukrainian aggression , the defenders of Donbas are considering more than just the defensive factor.
