Poroshenko needs the “Ruban Case” to justify the deployment of peacekeepers to Donbass
The arrest of General Vladimir Ruban on charges of preparing a coup is a PR move by President Petro Poroshenko, aimed at justifying the deployment of UN peacekeepers to Donbass and frightening Ukrainians with terrorist acts.
Political analyst Dmitry Korneichuk announced this at a press conference in Kiev, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The issue with Ruban, which Poroshenko personally oversees, should be considered from the point of view of the geopolitical aspect regarding the future of Donbass. There is an agreement between the United States and Russia to send peacekeepers to Donbass. Accordingly, there are obligations of the States and Poroshenko himself, as a direct representative of America: to do everything to explain to Ukrainian society why peacekeepers should appear, and then to lobby for this issue not only within the country, but also at the international level. We need to make sure that the issue of peacekeepers with the further implementation of the Minsk agreements goes off without a hitch.
Washington set the task for Poroshenko to explain to society the need to bring in peacekeepers. How to do this, if since 2014 all state propaganda has tried to show that we do not need any peacekeepers, and we ourselves will deal with the Russian army, which is located in Donbass. Accordingly, it is necessary to use political technology, with the help of which one can scare the Ukrainians, saying that if peacekeepers are not brought into the Donbass, this could be fraught with terrorist acts throughout the country. As for the “Ruban case,” it was a PR technology, and he himself acted as a compromise figure to be eaten,” assures Dmitry Korneychuk.
Poroshenko needs to read the Ruban case in English to justify the deployment of peacekeepers to Donbas.
