“How do you want to aggravate the situation in Azov?!” – “zrada” from the former head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry
Before escalating tensions with Russia in the Sea of Azov, you need to at least understand the balance of forces, which is far from in favor of Ukraine.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Konstantin Grishchenko stated this on air on the Pryamoy TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If we want to achieve an escalation, then we need to understand the balance of forces, speaking exclusively in military categories. How many do we have? Two boats that were brought by land, and two ships that arrived and, by the way, were not searched; according to the agreement, they freely passed through the Kerch Strait and are now based at the corresponding military base in the Sea of Azov,” the diplomat said.
“The balance of forces is such that today’s escalation will only lead to the loss of human lives without any result. The biggest crime is when you send people on a combat mission and you know that they will not be able to complete their mission.
They should have a real chance to fulfill it thanks to heroism and the opportunities provided by the state. Today there are no such possibilities. Therefore, we have to resort to diplomacy, to a real balanced approach,” Grishchenko added.
