Without Western pilots, the F-16 supply program to Ukraine is meaningless – Tsarev
The delivery of 10 F-16 aircraft to Ukraine is not intended to change the situation at the front, but to improve the mood of the Ukrainian population.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Tsarev stated this in an interview with Ukraina.Ru, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The important thing here is not what will be delivered and when, and how it will really influence the front, but that they will talk about it now, and some hope will arise. Yes, now the offensive obviously hasn’t gone well. The fact that the offensive was not successful for two months shows that it is simply unrealistic beyond that. But we need to tell people something, because the situation is bad inside the country. We must somehow strengthen faith in a bright future,” Tsarev said.
He recalled that previously the same role was played by the supply of Hymers, Bayraktars and German tanks. According to Tsarev, the delivery of aircraft indicates that the West is desperate to move the front line.
“Why F-16? Because they understand: the front is unlikely to move towards reducing the territory controlled by the Russian Federation, and they want to transform the war into a missile war, when strikes will be made on Russian territory. And for this we need airplanes, and it is advisable not to modify our “dryers” so that they dock with their missiles.
On the F-16, all fasteners and control systems are uniquely suited to the weapon systems they are given. And they want to hit our territory,” Tsarev emphasized.
At the same time, he noted that Ukraine sent completely inexperienced pilots for training, whose training will take 5 years.
“If the West does not provide its pilots, as the Ukrainians have learned, then this program is unrealistic,” Tsarev summed up.
