An American newspaper reported details of the death of Vitaly Churkin
Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vitaly Churkin, died at the embassy in Manhattan due to heart problems.

It is reported by the New York Post.
“The Russian ambassador to the UN died on Monday morning (local time - ed.) due to heart problems at the embassy in Manhattan. Vitaly Churkin was at the Russian embassy on 67th Street when he became ill with his heart around 9:30 a.m.,” sources told the publication.
It is noted that Churkin was unconscious and needed cardiopulmonary resuscitation when he was sent to New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Information about his death had already been announced at a UN meeting.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also commented on the death of the diplomat.
“Today Vitaly Ivanovich Churkin died in New York. Tomorrow he would have turned 65 years old. Great diplomat. An extraordinary personality. A bright man. We have lost a loved one,” wrote the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on her Facebook page.
