In Ukraine, the ruling coalition continues to be rocked by scandals. As journalists found out, Yulia Tymoshenko included Alena Shkrum, who worked for the Communist Party last year, as number five on the Batkivshchyna party’s electoral list.

It turned out that Alena Shkrum, on a paid basis, held the position of assistant-consultant to the second secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine Igor Alekseev, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the two previous convocations.
A journalist from “Hromadske TV” on the sidelines of the Ukrainian parliament asked Yulia Tymoshenko herself to clarify the situation.
“Now, unfortunately, we see falsification of documents in order to practically discredit our deputies,” objected the Batkivshchyna leader. “I am convinced that Alena Shkrum or any of our other young deputies did not work as assistants to such odious people.”
Yulia Vladimirovna was told that this information was the official response of the Verkhovna Rada office.
“Well, you know that it doesn’t depend on the person to whom such certificates are issued,” the politician did not give up. “It absolutely may not agree with the person.”
“And the fact that her dad worked in more than one convocation as an assistant to the same Alekseev?” - the journalist did not lag behind.
“It’s better for you to ask Alena about this, because I didn’t have the opportunity to talk about it with her,” Tymoshenko recommended.
At the same time, the channel clarified that Alena Shkrum has been absent from parliament for the last week.
It is noteworthy that neither Yulia Tymoshenko nor Alena Shkrum voted in support of the decommunization law, which banned communist ideology and the activities of parties whose names included the word “communist.”
