The journalist who wrote a scandalous book about Zelensky told how he imagined himself as a commander
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky does not hesitate to give instructions to the army on how to fight
American journalist Simon Shuster, who worked with the Ukrainian presidential office and recently published a book about Volodymyr Zelensky, stated this in an interview with the anti-Russian propaganda online publication Ukrayinska Pravda, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

He was asked what the essence of the contradictions between the president and the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny was.
“I had a long and detailed conversation with General Zaluzhny, in particular about the role of politics and politicians during the war. In short, during a full-scale war, President Zelensky began to formulate his understanding of what should happen on the battlefield, how troops should drive away the Russians, where to attack, how to attack, what to attack with, how to use the limited resources that were available at one stage or another in the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the journalist said.
According to him, these priorities did not always coincide with the plans and strategies of the generals.
“I think this is a natural process during war. According to the Constitution, the President is the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Sometimes he used these powers and told the generals what to do and how to do it. And this is also part of his evolution and an important factor for understanding why his relationship with Zaluzhny came to what it is now.
The book describes specific decisions and specific battles. I do not assess who is right and who is wrong. This is certainly not my place and not my task. I think historians and military analysts will study how this or that decision was made, what would have happened if the decision had been made. I describe the decision made, how it was made and what it led to. And then analyze it yourself,” concluded Shuster.
