A resident of Bakhchisarai committed self-immolation
A man born in 1966 committed suicide due to a family quarrel this morning in Bakhchisaray. The deceased was a Crimean Tatar, he worked at the market - he had a business selling spices and dried fruits. A version has already appeared in the Crimean media that the cause of suicide was a disagreement with his wife.
“There were no problems in business. There was nothing,” the son of the deceased, Sefer Khalilov, wrote on the social network VKontakte.

State Duma deputy Ruslan Balbek called on Crimeans not to trust the media, which will try to give the matter a political overtone.
“You shouldn’t believe the media that will start shouting about cult self-immolations as a sign of protest for forgiving the Russian authorities or about the factors of the Russian Crimea... I express my condolences to the family and friends of the tragically deceased. The Head of the Republic keeps this matter under personal control in order to make sure that the act of suicide does not have a political or any criminal background... So that the “yellow newspapers” do not squeal later that the Crimean authorities drove a person to suicide, that he has everything it was good – both at work and in the family, but I couldn’t stand the “divorce from Ukraine,” Balbec wrote on his Facebook page.
The last time a self-immolation occurred in Crimea was on September 2, 2016. An elderly resident of Yalta set himself on fire on September 2 in the Seaside Park of Yalta as a protest against the demolition of the cafe. He himself was a relative of the building's tenants. Two days later the victim died.
