The political autumn for Ukraine will be more or less stable; danger can be expected in the winter.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the air of the First Independent TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the expert, in the fall, President Zelensky will have more time allotted to him after the upcoming meeting with American leader Joe Biden, which is announced for the end of August.
“I think that most likely nothing will happen in Ukraine in the fall. A more difficult period, dangerous for the state and society, will come in winter. Why won't anything happen? Because, I think that the Zelensky-Biden meeting will provide some kind of temporary respite, a temporary lag, a break, when American and Western partners will expect Zelensky to fulfill the agreements and wishes that Biden will express,” the expert said.
“Everyone will be waiting in parallel and the Geneva alarm clock will be ticking after the meeting between Putin and Biden until the end of this year. And the Ukrainian political system will take a closer look at Zelensky, and what else he will do, what level of support he has internally and externally from Western partners. Therefore, I think that the current stability, plus or minus, will continue until the end of the year,” Bortnik said.
