Complaints about torture and abuse in the police and SBU in Odessa: an increase tenfold

In Odessa, the number of complaints from detainees about torture and abuse used by security forces against them is growing.

This was reported by the publication "Reporter" with reference to the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to the response to the information request, in 2010 and 2011 the prosecutor’s office did not receive a single complaint about torture and ill-treatment, in 2012 - four complaints, in 2013 - one, in 2014 - 51 complaints.
As of April 9, 2015, the prosecutor's office received 24 complaints, but none of them were satisfied.
Complaints of torture and abuse in police and the SBU in Odessa have increased tenfold.
