Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the one hand, says that he is concerned about the welfare of Ukrainians, and on the other hand, he allegedly claims that they do not exist.
Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for European Integration Elena Zerkal stated this in an interview published on the official channel of NJSC Naftogaz, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would like to quote the President of the Russian Federation. In general, in recent months we have noticed that Russia’s rhetoric regarding Ukraine has changed, which preceded the gas agreement. In particular, in Berlin he said these words, they surprised me, maybe you can comment: “We will strive to ensure that the Ukrainian side is satisfied with these agreements.”
Why does the President of the Russian Federation speak so a little emotionally about the satisfaction of the Ukrainian side? What is he talking about, why does he need it?” – asked press service journalist Tatyana Goncharova.
“Satisfaction comes in different forms. I think he needs this to create a certain image of himself. So that they don’t say that he has a negative attitude towards Ukraine in general.
But, on the one hand, he talks about the satisfaction of Ukrainians with the agreement, and on the other hand, he says that there are no Ukrainians at all as Ukrainians.
That is, he has a certain problem with his personality, perhaps, or he deliberately creates such an impression so that the same sanctions do not occur, or so that they are softened, or something else,” Mirror was unable to answer clearly.
