Zelensky promised to follow the example of Israel in the field of security
Ukraine will take into account Israel's experience in the field of security and defense, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This was stated by Vladimir Zelensky following negotiations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the press service of the Presidential Office reported.
“We as a state have a lot to learn from Israel, especially in matters of security and defense. And we will definitely do this,” Zelensky emphasized.
According to Zelensky, issues of war and security, which Israel knows better than others, became the first on the agenda of his negotiations with Benjamin Netanyahu.
Zelensky also thanked his Israeli partners for their continued support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine and their stable position regarding the war in the east and the “annexation of Crimea.”
Earlier, one of the people’s deputies elected from the Servant of the People, Alexander Dubinsky, also citing the experience of Israel, proposed in an interview with the online publication “Strana.ua” to build a wall on the border with areas of Donbass not controlled by the government. According to him, one of the options for freezing the conflict could be the construction of a wall. “We are not giving up anything, but building a wall. Thirty by thirty, and in the middle is “no man’s land,” Dubinsky said, recalling a similar wall between Israel and the Palestinian Authority: “There, on the border with Palestine, there is a concrete wall about twelve meters long and three meters thick. The truck enters an automated checkpoint. The Palestinian driver gets out of the truck, gets into a taxi and drives off. This truck is pulled along a concrete box to be checked to see if there are weapons and metal there,” Dubinsky said.
