Zelensky began to imitate Poroshenko
In his latest interview, Ukrainian presidential candidate Vladimir Zelensky showed that he is already getting a taste for power.
This opinion was expressed in a commentary to Moskovsky Komsomolets by the deputy head of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, Kirill Molchanov.

“Zelensky has already begun to get a taste for power, although he has not yet become president. Firstly, he refused in advance to transition to a parliamentary republic, since he wants to concentrate in his hands the maximum possible power. Secondly, he copies Poroshenko’s rhetoric, becoming his lighter version. In fact, Zelensky is saying the same things as his competitor in the 2014 elections. Under these conditions, there is no hope that relations between Russia and Ukraine will be reset,” Molchanov said.
At the same time, he believes that it will still be easier for the Russian-speaking population under Zelensky’s rule than under Poroshenko.
“First of all, because these people are his main electorate,” the political scientist said. – Thanks to this, national patriots will not be able to force him to continue the persecution of the UOC-MP and the Russian language or to resume active hostilities in the Donbass. At least, this definitely won’t happen before the elections to the Verkhovna Rada.”
Konstantin Zatulin, the first deputy of the State Duma for CIS affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots, and head of the Institute of CIS Countries, does not see much difference between Zelensky and Poroshenko.
“His interview was excellent proof that changing the places of the terms does not change anything. There is only one difference between Zelensky and Poroshenko - symbolic. It will continue to follow the same rut that was dug in 2014. It’s not about Zelensky, but about the conditions of the game,” Zatulin told the publication.
As PolitNavigator reported, Zelensky called Russian President Vladimir Putin an enemy and declared that Donbass would not receive autonomy.
