Zelensky will demand that Putin allow Tyagnibok into Donetsk
Holding elections in Donbass according to the laws of Ukraine without any reservations (i.e., with the participation of nationalist parties and under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine) will be one of the main demands of Vladimir Zelensky at the upcoming negotiations with Vladimir Putin in Paris at a meeting in the Normandy format.
This was stated on the air of the 1+1 TV channel by the Verkhovna Rada deputy and presidential adviser Nikita Poturaev, a correspondent reports "PolitNavigator".
According to Poturaev, Zelensky’s first two demands are “a ceasefire along the entire demarcation line,” then “the release of all our prisoners and political prisoners who are in the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.”
“And the third point is that only if the first two points are fulfilled can the political process begin. Namely, elections. Exclusively in accordance with Ukrainian legislation. There is nothing new, transitory, temporary - with the current one. And according to OSCE standards. This means that there cannot be units of any regular Russian army there, nor units of mercenaries of the Russian Federation, the so-called army corps - the first and second. They must be withdrawn, they must be disarmed. And this means that neither the Russians nor their mercenaries can control the border,” said Zelensky’s adviser.
Thus, the deputy emphasized, Zelensky will not bring any agreements unfavorable for Kyiv from Paris.
“The new “Minsk” will not come from there, “Paris” will not come from there, exactly three things can come from there that the Ukrainian side worked on, that the president worked on, and that we, in fact, hope for,” Poturaev concluded.
Previously, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev called Zelensky an opponent of rabid nationalism.
