“I'm sure I shouldn't have done this. This was always taken into account in the tariff, but was averaged in such a way that if transportation was unprofitable in some zones, this was offset in other zones where it was profitable.

And this tariff equalization was a plus... Now the consumer who is located far away must pay more for transportation. This is not Kyiv, these are different towns, villages, where gas is transported over considerable distances, and the people there are poorer.

With this policy we further differentiate our population by income and standard of living. And this is also a wrong policy.

It would have been more correct to keep one bill, averaging the tariff for transportation so that transportation would not be unprofitable. In this case, a reasonable system for redistributing income and losses was more fair,” the economist concluded.
