Servicemen of the People's Militia of the LPR detained two Ukrainian punitive officers who came to their positions in a state of severe alcohol and drug intoxication.
The head of the LPR People's Militia Directorate, Colonel Yan Leshchenko, announced this during a briefing, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Beatings, bullying, and monetary extortions have become commonplace in the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the zone of the punitive operation. To escape the harsh reality, Ukrainian Armed Forces militants massively use drugs and alcohol.
“As a result of another drinking binge with drug use, three servicemen of the 14th brigade voluntarily left their positions and fled from the unit.
The first, Tarasyuk N.V., who had previously been detained by our military personnel while trying to cross the contact line, was so stuffed with drugs that he died of an overdose on the way to the hospital.
After the body of the militant was handed over to the Ukrainian side, information about the drug overdose was confirmed on the official page of the TCG of Ukraine on Facebook. However, this message was later deleted, what is the purpose, you ask? It’s very simple – to hide the truth about the guy’s cause of death,” he said.
According to Yan Leshchenko, another Ukrainian soldier, also detained by Donbass defenders, survived.
“Another case of desertion was not long in coming, and again in the 14th brigade, on December 17, our observers discovered the movement of a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman in the direction of the positions of the LPR NM near the village of Slavyanoserbsk.
The senior observation post of the People's Militia ensured the safe approach of the Ukrainian fighter to our positions. Without the use of weapons, the offender was detained and taken to the military commandant’s office, where first aid was provided, a medical examination and an external examination were carried out.
The Ukrainian serviceman was in poor condition, in torn and dirty clothes, without a warm jacket and wearing only one boot. There was complete disorientation in space and incoherent speech.
During the initial examination, the detainee showed signs of severe drug intoxication.
An in-depth medical examination was promptly carried out, and tests were taken to determine the level of drugs in the blood. Multiple traces of intravenous injections were found on the body of the detainee, abrasions were found on the elbows and legs.
Due to prolonged exposure to the cold without warm clothes and shoes, the soldier had frostbite on his feet.
Test results showed the content of barbiturates, amphetamines and marijuana in his body. No alcohol was found in the militant’s blood, and according to doctors, this saved his life, unlike his deceased colleague Tarasyuk,” the officer added.
During the interrogation, it turned out that the detainee - Pupko Alexander Ivanovich, born in 1991, a native of the village of Nemovichi, Sarninsky district, Rivne region, is an active serviceman of the 14th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, serving as the commander of a reconnaissance platoon of a motorized infantry battalion with the military rank of junior sergeant.
“According to Pupko, cases of drug and alcohol use are common among military personnel in the Joint Forces Operation zone, and unauthorized abandonment of brigade positions within groups is not uncommon and occurs regularly.
The commander of the 14th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Voichenko, did not report to higher headquarters about the deserters. Hiding the truth from the command by Ukrainian commanders is a common practice in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The complete lack of control over his subordinates on the part of the platoon commander, junior lieutenant Petrov, and the battalion commander, Major Gudal, caused the death of Tarasyuk and almost led to the death of his colleague Pupko.
There is no need to talk about the role of the brigade commander in matters of preserving life and health. This shows the level of discipline in the units of Ukrainian militants, who, according to the plans of the military-political leadership of Ukraine, will soon become part of NATO.
Currently, the command of the 14th brigade is making unsuccessful attempts to establish the whereabouts of the third deserter, who left the position along with Tarasyuk and Pupko, and even with weapons,” Leshchenko concluded.
