Granting Kyiv the status of a candidate for EU membership will help European propaganda explain to the population the need for arms supplies to Ukraine.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The West is escalating the situation, artificially delaying the Northern Military District by providing Kyiv not only with military assistance, but also with political support. It is in this context that we consider the decision of the EU summit to grant Ukraine candidate status for EU membership.
This is another example of the actions of Western regimes to develop the territory of Ukraine and use Ukraine as a tool to contain Russia,” said the Foreign Ministry representative.
“This has nothing to do with the development of the economy of Ukraine or the entire region, the development of financial or democratic institutions. This is stated, in fact, in the decisions themselves, which state the low level of Ukraine’s achievement of the very parameters that are set for members to join.
But who stops this when a political order needs to be fulfilled and when it is necessary to explain and provide motivation through political support for dumping all types of weapons there?” – said Zakharova.
