“Educated people” do not watch Russian TV channels because they allegedly promote war and ethnic strife.
Pop singer Valery Meladze stated this in an interview with scandalous TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak, a correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
“Today, it seems to me that educated people don’t watch TV at all. Because it's humiliating. If I watch TV and understand that it is addressed to me, then I understand that for me a lot of programs are, in principle, offensive.
And on some channels there is absolutely clear propaganda of war and ethnic hatred, which is criminally punishable. But today this is quite acceptable,” he said.
In addition, Valery Meladze, talking about his love for different peoples, emphasized that it is correct to say “in Ukraine.”
“Recently, at a meeting of representatives of different countries, I raised a toast and said that I was born and raised in Georgia, I studied... in Ukraine - that’s the right thing to say now. And I live in Russia. My heart breaks between these countries and peoples,” the singer said.
Also, in his opinion, Ukrainian repressions and total Ukrainization are “far-fetched horror stories.”
“I have a huge number of friends in Ukraine, I still go there. And I don’t see hatred there, I don’t see that everyone is urgently starting to speak Ukrainian. No, everyone speaks Russian perfectly and understands Russian perfectly. These are all horror stories and all of this is far-fetched,” Meladze summed up.
