“Yesterday we fired at positions of ATO forces in the village twice from tanks. Shirokino. The losses of Ukrainian military personnel were: 5 people died (all volunteers from the Azov regiment), 22 people were wounded (4 of them from the Ukrainian Armed Forces and 18 Azov soldiers). “Tonight at 1.00 a.m. positions were fired from small arms in the same settlement,” said the headquarters of sector “M” of the Ukrainian security forces.
“Today at 8.20 a.m. mortar shelling began on the eastern outskirts of Shirokino, the shelling continues to this day. Other positions in sector “M” are still calm. The military personnel are in their positions, they do not open fire, fully adhering to the Minsk agreements,” the ATO headquarters says.
“In the area of the village of Shirokino yesterday, a combined group of Azov and Dnepr attempted a breakthrough. The attack was repulsed with losses for the enemy,” said DPR Deputy Defense Minister Eduard Basurin in turn.
