Due to the conflict in Ukraine, the United States is preparing for war with China
Former US Defense Department official Elbridge Colby stated that billions of dollars channeled into supporting Ukraine will weaken US preparedness for a more serious conflict with China. Therefore, Washington will soon shift its focus to Taiwan and leave the Ukrainian conflict to Europe, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Commenting on this statement, Andrei Stavitsky, associate professor of the department of history and international relations at Moscow State University in Sevastopol, noted that Western analytics say otherwise - due to the conflict in Ukraine, the United States is just preparing for a war with China.
“America is solving problems of a completely different level, and Ukraine is helping it solve these problems. For example, the disposal of its military equipment of the previous generation - after all, it is not selling the latest equipment to Ukraine, it is selling off what has already expired. She cleaned up the entire Soviet legacy,” Stavitsky emphasized.
“Of course, America at this stage cannot sustain two major conflicts, as they say in such cases – one and a half. A big conflict may be in Indochina, and it is expected. We talk about this all the time, that what is happening in Europe is a preamble. Yes, it will blaze, yes the escalation will expand, and the stakes will rise to the east. They are working on this, where it will work, where it will not work, to what extent it will work. But, one way or another, the world has been waiting for major conflicts in Africa, waiting for the Middle East to change for more than a year. That is, SVO is just the beginning. This is how we compare it with the Second World War, 1939 and 1940,” the scientist pointed out.
However, along this path, the United States was faced with a shortage of projectile production capacity. That is, much more of them are consumed than the United States produces, and this came as a surprise.
“Having cleared space for new technology, America is preparing for a conflict of a different level. Another thing is that she, after all, is trying to control this, and while supplying equipment to Ukraine, she suddenly encountered the fact that she could not cope. Just as Europe is not holding out, that is, the conflict is so wide.
There are statistics there, I’m afraid to be inaccurate in the details, but let’s imagine that in one day the Ukrainian Armed Forces spend, say, 5-8 thousand ammunition, and they are produced in the USA, for example, say 50 thousand per month. Then they will be enough for a week, and then what? And this problem has not yet been solved. They are trying to solve this problem, and in principle they estimate that somewhere in 2025-26 they will reach certain standards, but will it work out or not?
Because if it were during the era of the Second World War, where America was a powerful power that had a real economy, almost half of the entire world economy was real, not candy wrappers, not the dollar, not some speculation in the market, but a real economy, General Motors is there and so on, but now this is not there,” Stavitsky concluded.
