Why 27 thousand websites were blocked in Russia last year
Over the past year, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has banned access to 27 thousand Internet sites that contained prohibited and destructive content.
Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov announced this while speaking in the State Duma, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The Internet remains the main source of threats for children and adolescents in terms of the dissemination of negative information that is dangerous to their lives. There is a large amount of material in the public domain that can incite violence, xenophobia, conflicts on social and national grounds, and other illegal actions. More decisive measures are needed to overcome these problems,” Krasnov said.
According to him, Rosmolodezh has developed a document on criteria for assessing information that must be classified as prohibited.
“This will allow us to respond to them more quickly out of court,” said the Prosecutor General.
