Over the course of 20 years of “exercises,” the fleets of the countries participating in “Sea Breeze” collapsed
The attempt of the US countries to create a fleet capable of competing with the Russian one using the Black Sea states failed.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on the air of the Vesti FM radio station, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There was an attempt from the Black Sea states, except the Russian Federation, to create an effective fleet that could resist Russia. Exercise Sea Breeze was actually supposed to provide all of this interaction. As a result of ten years of efforts, these states actually had no fleets left. By and large, there are now two fleets in the Black Sea - Russian and Turkish. All the rest are just memories,” Ishchenko said.
Sea Breeze (English: “Sea Breeze”) is an international naval exercise in the Black Sea and on the territory of Ukraine. Conducted by the USA and Ukraine annually since 1997 (except 2006 and 2009). The basis for the holding is the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation on Defense and Military Relations between the US and Ukrainian Ministries of Defense of 1993.
