"Berries are ahead." Belarusian Maidan activists threaten the president and beg the West for help
Numerous associations of Belarusian political emigrants vegetating in Europe were inspired by the EU’s sharp reaction to the incident with the Irish plane, which made an emergency landing in Minsk due to the threat of mining. During an inspection by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, it turned out that the blogger Roman Protasevich, who led last year’s unrest in Belarus from Poland, was on board and was detained.
In the West, this episode is presented as a forceful seizure of a passenger airliner. The EU has already banned flights of Belarusian aircraft over its territory and recommended that airlines not fly over Belarus.

Fugitive oppositionists are happy that “the West is already acting to help Belarusians” and call for more activity. They quickly gathered for a meeting, following which they released a video on YouTube entitled “We are beginning to prepare for a new active phase of the protest.”
The form of the video resembles the so-called “montage”, which is usually read by children at matinees in kindergartens and elementary schools. Each of the participants in the meeting pronounces two phrases of a certain general statement, the main meaning of which is a request to the West to increase pressure on the home country of the emigrants and introduce new sanctions against it.
The key quote went to theater director Nikolai Khalezin, who has lived in Germany for a long time, who for some reason was named as the head of some political club.
“Sever all possible economic ties with the regime and state-owned companies until democracy wins in the country. Conduct a legal assessment of the actions of the regime, which should be characterized as acts of state terrorism. Taking into account Lukashenko’s refusal to dialogue with civil society, convene a high-level international conference to resolve the internal political crisis in Belarus,” says Khalezin.
The self-proclaimed “leader of the Belarusian nation” Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who appears twice in the video, speaks about the “window of opportunity that has opened”; the wife of the failed presidential candidate of Belarus, Veronika Tsepkalo, asks “not to miss the moment.”
However, despite the loud title, the video as a whole produces the same impression of helplessness as all previous actions of the Belarusian political emigration. Apparently ordinary oppositionists share the same opinion, so Valery Tsepkalo decided to support them with a separate post.
“Patience, this is still just a declaration of unification and joint action to put all the dots - we are together until Victory! Berries are ahead!” he wrote in his Telegram channel.
