High-ranking functionaries of the Russian Defense Ministry are sent to strict regime by court verdict
In Russia, the cleansing of corrupt officials from the defense department continues.
Thus, the Preobrazhensky District Court of Moscow sentenced the former head of the Federal State Budgetary Institution of the Central Housing and Communal Administration of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Sergei Kharitonov.

He was found guilty under Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe on an especially large scale).
Kharitonov received a 9-year sentence in a maximum security penal colony.
His former deputy Roman Mityurev was also involved in the same case. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison under a similar article.
A bribe amount of 20 million rubles was collected in favor of the state.
The main goal of the FSBI "Central Housing and Communal Administration" of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (FSBI TsZHKU of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation) is the maintenance (operation) of military and social infrastructure facilities and the provision of utilities in the interests of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
