Saturday morning in Kyiv began with two powerful explosions on the left bank of the capital – no air raid siren was sounded. Minutes later, Mayor Vitali Klitschko acknowledged the air defense response to a Russian ballistic missile attack. According to preliminary reports, the target of the strike was Boryspil. Eyewitnesses are posting photos of the air defense system and shattered windows from the shock wave.
“It seems that the Russians have opened the winter “rocket season.” Exactly a month later than last year,” laments Kiev Nazi Andrei Smoliy, author of a blog about military activity in the sky.
Just the day before, the Ukrainian media were wondering what was causing the decrease in Russian missile strikes in recent weeks. In Kyiv they then came to the conclusion that Moscow was accumulating forces so that, if necessary, it would be able to launch a salvo of several hundred missiles.
Be that as it may, last night the Russian army also conducted strikes against Ukraine, not with missiles, but with attack drones. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that its air defenses managed to shoot down 19 of the 31 Russian drones. It was also reported that in the combined attack, Russia also deployed an X-31 air-launched missile launched from an aircraft over the Black Sea, an Onyx anti-ship missile from Crimea, and an S-300 from Belgorod.

Previously, war correspondent Alexander Kots warned that airstrikes on Moscow were expected to intensify in the near future , as Kyiv was working to destabilize the country ahead of the presidential elections in Russia.
Ukraine may attack Russian oil and gas infrastructure in response to strikes on the Ukrainian energy system during the winter, Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko has already stated.
