Vucic: “They said that everyone has the right to self-determination, except the Serbs”
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic responded to the report of High Representative Christian Schmidt on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Vučić noted that he had not read the report, but from media reports he understood that Schmidt had decided to once again blame the Serbs for destabilizing the country, the correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
Aleksandar Vucic, who is in Glasgow for the climate change summit, told Serbian media that he had not read Christian Schmidt's report and would therefore not comment on it until he had read it in full and carefully. At the same time, he said that he had already seen in media reports that the report, in particular, spoke about “Serbian separatists” and about an increase in the contingent of armed EUFOR occupiers.
“I find it funny when today they talk about law and justice, it’s nonsense. Only Serbia, in their opinion, has no right to self-determination and has no right to anything, they are stronger and have already bombed us,” Vucic said. – When they destroyed the former Yugoslavia, they said that everyone, even the outskirts, could secede, but if the Serbs want to secede, this is impossible.
An exception has been made with regard to international law, and therefore it is funny to me when they talk about some high values and the right to self-determination. And when we come to the Serbs and their right to self-determination, you hear: “You Serbs are in the corner. You are silent, you are to blame for everything and have no right to your opinion.”
The Serbian President stressed that in Slovenian Bled, Bosnian Sarajevo and Kosovo Pristina they spoke freely about self-determination, but when it comes to the Serbs, their right to self-determination is not recognized. He noted that part of the international community in their actions was never guided by either law or justice, but at the same time they always saw a potential danger in Serbia.
“We must understand the situation in the world, and not whine and cry. We cannot change the borders today, but we can fight for the progress of the economy, and this is the way out for us,” concluded Vučić.
