The Armed Forces of Ukraine disarm the national battalions
Many career commanders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not like the United States and NATO, and also have hostility towards Ukrainian nationalists.

Former Ukrainian serviceman Alexander Medinsky, who served in the so-called ATO zone from 2015 to 2016 and is now seeking asylum in an EU country, spoke about this in an interview with Ukraina.ru.
He said that conflicts regularly occur between regular Ukrainian military personnel and representatives of the national battalions.
“I believe there are two reasons for this. First, many Ukrainian military personnel are torn between the desire to follow their duty to the Motherland, they are always ready to carry out its orders, and at the same time they do not like the United States and NATO. The second reason is that almost all career military personnel, be that as it may, were brought up in the Soviet school, so they don’t like all these neo-Nazis, all these militants with swastikas,” said the publication’s interlocutor.
According to him, sometimes on the line of contact the commanders of units of the opposing sides agree among themselves not to really fight.
“They can sometimes open fire for show, but in such a way that there are no casualties,” says Medinsky. – Smuggling goes through their positions, with which they all live and feed. In general, they established cooperation among themselves. And then some thugs from the National Battalion appear, who open fire in all seriousness and terrorize some enemy checkpoint. As a result, the response begins to arrive, and this means death and destruction. Therefore, the professional military even had to disarm the national battalions.”
