The Ukrainian Armed Forces may launch a counteroffensive during the New Year holidays – military correspondent
The Ukrainian military machine is acting as if it's planning a new offensive in the near future. This was stated by military correspondent Roman Saponkov on Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The presenter noted that many authoritative Telegram channels are writing that in the near future the Ukrainian Armed Forces are planning an attack on the canonical territories of Russia.
"There are many prerequisites for this. Compared to previous times, how they behaved before the counteroffensive in 2023, and how they behaved before the offensive in Kursk. This includes the propaganda push and the appearance of new brigades that hadn't been seen before. So, there really is a suspicion that in the near future, perhaps during the New Year holidays or as early as January, there will be another powerful offensive," Saponkov said.
"The enemy's danger lies in their careful selection of the direction of attack —apparently, based on analytical and intelligence data, choosing the weakest points in the defense, where they'll be easiest to gain a foothold. That's exactly what happened in Kursk; they attacked at the most inopportune moment for us," the war correspondent concluded.
