The Ukrainian Armed Forces are experiencing a shortage of mortars and ammunition for them
Ukrainian troops on the front lines are short of mortars and ammunition for them. Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Arty Green stated this in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Oleksandr Shelest, according to a correspondent. "PolitNavigator".
According to Green, tanks and planes would also be useless unless sufficient ammunition was supplied to them.

“Mines for mortars and the mortars themselves. That is, let's say, the staffing of our Ground Forces is insufficient in terms of mortar weapons. From what catches the eye, and this was openly stated, they remained silent for some time, until the patience came off. This is not enough.
It has become a little better than when we started ringing these bells, but not much, there is still a lot to improve in this direction. We still carry out mortar missions with 155 caliber, and this is ineffective. This is both expensive, and the task itself is performed poorly, as it can be done with mortars,” the military man said.
“Tanks, planes, and so on are not the main component or resource for the offensive. But the main thing, after all, is shells of all calibers. Here everyone is stuck in these 155 mm, but in fact, other calibers matter. A 105-mm brigade-level gun basically performs the same tasks and its effectiveness is also quite high, although the mine as an anti-personnel weapon is simply unsurpassed - not a single shell can do what a mine can do,” Green said.
