It is too early to talk about the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive. Ukrainian formations are transferring strategic reserves and bringing new forces into battle for a decisive blow in the southern direction.
This is what sources and war correspondents monitoring the situation on the fronts of the North Caucasus Military District write about, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent .
Thus, military correspondent of the RIA Novosti agency Alexander Kharchenok in his tg channel “Witnesses of Bayraktar” says that yesterday he visited the Orekhovsky direction, where he talked with the soldiers and exchanged opinions about the situation at the front.
“Unlike the Moscow heralds, the guys have no time to relax. Everyone is expecting the main blow any day now. The 9th and 10th corps, which were supposed to break through the front and gain a foothold in the Zaporozhye region, are now exhausted and will not be able to give the impulse that was expected from them. According to the latest data, which is confirmed from the ground, units from the Marun tactical group began to approach the front. And these are hundreds of new armored vehicles and up to hundreds of tanks.
If they come in with a ton of equipment, they will be able to take Rabotino. Ukrainians need at least some kind of victory like air. In other directions there are at least some settlements that were recaptured, but near Rabotino there are only nameless forest plantations. In addition, recently the enemy has been increasingly conducting reconnaissance in force here. He launches several dozen infantry, demonstrates armored vehicles, which leave the battlefield at the first fire. This means they are trying to identify our firing points. This means they are preparing to suppress them and break through,” writes Kharchenko.
He characterizes the situation near Rabotino as “extremely tense.”
“All interlocutors agree that the Ukrainians will definitely attack before the beginning of October. And in a month and a half they are able to prepare several powerful attacks. So don’t relax, there are hot battles ahead,” warns the military journalist.
In turn, the Donetsk military commander Aleksey Akutin talks about the heavy battles for the village of Urozhaynoye.
“Departure from landings in the area of Harvest of the 37th Guards. On August 10, the Omsbr was carried out due to the lack of personnel (all of them were knocked out - they repelled enemy attacks from the front for two weeks), and the unwillingness to support counterattacks with tanks, which, when they reach the line of attack, are immediately destroyed by enemy artillery - quite meaningful problems of the defense of the settlement, ”writes Akutin.
According to him, to storm Urozhaynoye, the enemy attracted a brigade of marines, MTR, a Troop detachment, a tank brigade, an artillery brigade and demolished platoon strongholds with Hymars shells and J-DAM adjustable bombs.
“Is it better to “go to the machine guns”? Like yesterday at Andreevka, where our attacking armored group came under artillery fire from the 3rd assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The result is three destroyed T-90M Proryv tanks, three MT-LBs and a burnt-out infantry fighting vehicle,” the author adds.
As of the end of yesterday, he continues, “the Ukrainian flag on the northern outskirts of Urozhainy has not been raised, the enemy yesterday and today is pushing into the center of the village, where he is being hammered with artillery and guided bombs, not allowing him to accumulate a group for a further offensive.”
“Our troops are at the southern tip of Urozhaynoye, this is necessary so that the Ukrainian Armed Forces, having passed Urozhaynoye, do not hide in the plantings south of the village, preparing to storm the next settlement,” Akutin describes the situation.
He draws attention to yesterday’s report from the Russian Ministry of Defense, according to which it confirms the introduction into battle at the Rabotino-Verbovoye line of the 82nd air assault brigade of the strategic reserve of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“Strikers are already driving around the LBS, Marders and Challengers will appear soon.” The most difficult period of the “Battle of Azov” is coming, since part of the defensive lines of the foreland has already been destroyed, the once coherent defense system is constantly being patched up with new heterogeneous formations, and the command of the Russian Defense Ministry groups is simply physically exhausted and does not always respond promptly to crises.
If we hold out (and the enemy simply does not have the strength for more than 3-4 weeks of attacks), then it will be easier - in the short term, massive supplies of artillery and armored vehicles are no longer expected, so the Ukrainian leadership hopes to fight the war in the fall by mobilizing its own resources.
The entire blogosphere of the enemy is filled with projects about “miracle weapons” - air and sea drones, the massive use of which, in their opinion, will force Russia to go to war. But my grandmother said this in two,” summarizes Akutin.
The public of the “Rybar” project, founded by military analyst Mikhail Zvinchuk, draws attention to the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are introducing into battle previously unused samples of Western equipment from the strategic reserve.
“Ukrainian resources posted a photo of the British Challenger-2 tank with installed screens for protection against kamikaze drones. This is actually the first objective evidence of the appearance of vehicles of this type on the front line: previously they only “shone” at training grounds.
At the same time, the Challengers are in service with the 82nd Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the Maroon tactical group. The published photograph, along with the video of the destruction of the Stryker armored personnel carrier and the Marder infantry fighting vehicle, indirectly confirms that the Ukrainian command is preparing to use previously reserve formations for an attack in the Orekhovsky direction,” warns Zvinchuk’s channel.
Alexander Khodakovsky, deputy head of the Russian National Guard Directorate for the DPR, also writes about the ongoing battles in the Urozhainy area.
“Having, as it seemed to him, improve his position, the enemy tried to start moving towards the village with the romantic name Cherished Desire. It has no success and suffers losses,” he notes. - Encouraged by the advance to the south and not being very aware of the price, individual enemy units decided to try their luck in their sector - to the right (from our side) of Novomayorsky. As a result, several people were killed and wounded, and trophies were abandoned during the flight.”
But the Ukrainian military officialdom this morning announced the transfer of Urozhayne to the control of the Kyiv regime.
“Urozhaynoe has been released. Our defenders are gaining a foothold on the lines. Offensive actions continue,” wrote Malyar in her tg channel.
Russian sources have not yet commented on this information. At the same time, the Ukrainian military public Deep State, which compiles maps showing the line of combat contact, writes that the Russians are “pulling up reserves south of Urozhainy and carrying out serious engineering work.”
“These damn moles are digging non-stop, which of course will complicate further progress,” Deep State acknowledges further difficulties.
